Costs for Packing and Unpacking

Many people hire us to handle all their packing and unpacking as well as the actual moving of their items to their new house. This is a great way to ensure everything is safely packed before the move, and unpacked in your new home. Our packing and unpacking services are charged based on the hourly rate of the movers (see below). Plus any materials that are needed. If you choose to handle your own packing and unpacking, we can provide you with moving supplies like bubble wrap, boxes, and more. We’ll have these items delivered to you for just $30 shipping (plus the cost of the materials) if you live within 20 miles of our offices.

Labor Charges

Our prices for most services are based on the hourly rate for our professional movers. Their rates are based on the days of the week that they are needed, and the hours of the day. Remember, these prices are ‘per man’ so if two movers are needed for your job, each one will be billed at the following rates:

• Normal Hours (8AM to 7PM Monday through Saturday) - $30 per hour
• Overtime Hours (7PM to 8AM Monday through Saturday) - $40 per hour
• Sunday and Holiday Hours - $50 per hour

Charges for Travel Time

Part of every move is going to be the time spent driving the moving truck from your current home to your new one. Whether this is just across town or across the country, the following rates will be charged:

• 3-10 miles is charged at .5 hours
• 11-20 miles is charged at 1 hour
• 21-30 miles is charged at 1.5 hours
• 31-50 miles is charged at 2.5 hours

For longer distance moves, all travel that is beyond 100 miles is charged at a rate of .5 hours for each 20 miles driven.
